Nominating and Governence Committee Vote
I was surprised to see that the USAT Nominations and Governance Board Election Results had been posted, as I never received any ballot or notification of the availability of a ballot. The bylaws of the USAT state;

"The Nominating and Governance Committee shall be elected/selected and have the responsibilities as follows:
a. The Nominating and Governance Committee shall be selected as follows...
4. one (1) coach or referee as elected by the coach and referee members..."

How many other of our readers did not receive ballots? Or is the better question who did receive ballots? This is more than a question of idle curiosity. It rather speaks to the nature of the USAT organization.

Did you get a ballot? If You are too shy, contact me via the 'contact us' link at the bottom of the page.

Mike

When you access you profile on the USAT website, what does it say your voting status is?

Re: Nominating and Governence Committee Vote
Yes, I did it carried two names that coaches and refs could vote for Jimmy Kim and Choung Pham. If you'd like a fax of a copy of the ballot I can shoot one to you.

Re: Nominating and Governence Committee Vote
I also received my ballot a couple of weeks ago, and know of at least one other referee who received theirs.

Re: Nominating and Governence Committee Vote
Hmmm...Maybe it's just me.

I do recall that when I registered (on line) I could not pick the box to set my voting status. I assumed it was something that would be available to be set when we got closer to election time. However, I still cannot access the voting status box to mark it.

Re: Nominating and Governence Committee Vote
Jeannette,

I checked on my USAT status (on line) and its shows me as referee. I am sure they can work through some of these things for you.

See you in Chicago

Re: Nominating and Governence Committee Vote

I did not receive a ballot.

My profile on hangastar shows that I am an Athlete and Referee member, but the "voting as" shows "N/A".  I am almost certain it said "Referee" not long ago.  There is no apparent way to update the status online.  You can edit many of the profile fields, but not that one.

If the voting status was "N/A" that probably explains why I didn't get a ballot.

Very frustrating.

Did someone say that the only names listed were Jimmy Kim and Chuong Pham?  Shouldn't there be several more?

Re: Nominating and Governence Committee Vote
The USAT website says Jimmy Kim and Chuong Pham only, but I swear I remember there being more postings regarding the election that don't seem to be there now.

I'm thinking that the online membership is screwed up and thats why we didn't get ballots. As it is I'm amazed that the ballots got counted. The one place I could find that posted dates on the election (June 14th posting) said:
June 27th-Ballots mailed to USAT members
July 25th-completed ballots RECEIVED (not postmarked) at the USAT
July 31st-results of election posted.

Jay got his ballot on the 22nd, I assume of July. The rest of you guys got yours 'a couple of weeks ago' which is right about the 21st. Is it possible that the ballots took 25 days to travel to the voters, and got back to the USAT in 3 days, one of them a Sunday?

It does rather engender a sense of deja vu. Our biggest problem here in Michigan with the old USTU voting system was the that the ballots mysteriously went astray, unless you were a student of the winner of the election.

I hope that everyone who did not get a ballot will access their member profile and check their voting status. If they are posted incorrectly, I would think you would want to contact Hangastar ASAP to have it corrected.
