I checked with Ray Collins (the site moderator) and here is his response:

Problem is that his IP address was a bogus IP proxy which did not come back to any real place. He is welcome to send me a short email verifying that he is sending from a valid address (email) and all will be well.

There have been many people on OE that would log in with various screen names, using ghost proxy servers, etc., to hide the fact that they were all the same individual, just talking to themselves, pretending to garner support for their viewpoints.

Scott bops around the country quite a bit for his "day-job", so it would make sense that he accesses things from various IP's.  My guess is that was what tripped Ray's trigger to "deny" him access.  As Jay posted, Ray is pretty reasonable. If Scott wants to be able to log onto OE, and he's still having issues, he can send me a note, and I'll chat with Ray and get him on.  I'm still one of the moderators over there, and I'll be happy to vouch for Scott not having multiple personalities (at least on the internet). ;)
