Many would be willing and able to pay the $150.00 fee, but the cost, either in time or tickets keeps us from making the trip to Colorado Springs. Referee Co-Chairs Preston and Holloway indicate that they would be happy to hold these camps at alternate locations, if such locations could be found and made available as economically as the venue in Colorado Springs. TRUE has a primary goal of helping to improve referee training. We have got some funds available for use in pursuing that goal. We have yet to find a use for these funds that can benefit more than a couple of people. TRUE’s Executive Committee would like to make a proposal. We propose that TRUE offer to provide support to the USAT in locating and partially funding referee camps at venues around the country. Some of the things TRUE might be able to do are: Provide transportation to and from airports, hotels and venues Provide a venue (i.e. university gymnasium) Provide funding to reduce overall costs.
