Re: Round Robin Tournament Brackets
Mr. Montalvo, it is a pleasure to be able to respond to your question about Round Robin Brackets. In Round Robin competition, as you know, the idea is for every competitor in the same weight class/division to have a match against every one in that weight class/division. So, with 3 competitors it would be as follows: Player A fights Player B. After a rest period Player B would fight Player C. After another rest period Player A would fight Player C. Each player would have two fights. In most cases, one of the players will have 2 wins, another player would have 1 win and the other player would have no wins. the player with the 2 wins is the winner of that weight class. Should each player win one match each, the usual tiebreaker is this- the player who scored the most points is the winner of that division/weight class. For example, Player A defeats Player B (12-8); Player B defeats Player C (7-5); Player C defeats Player A (5-4). Player A would be the winner of that division because Player A scored a total of 16 points (12 +4), Player B would be in second place with 15 points (8+7), and Player C would finish in third place with 10 points (5+5).
