When do Judges reset their point counter?
Dear Ref Doctor, Here is a scenario, that is kind of general theme for me on how long do we carry a penalty for. Hong executes a spinning hook kick to Chung and misses his hand momentarily hits the floor to stabilize Hong, Hong without landing reverses and throws a roundhouse to the head which lands without knock down force. The referee has not stopped the match for anything. Has a point occurred? Assumptions: the hit to the head was viewable by at least three judges and met the force criteria for a head shot. Joe

Re: When do Judges reset their point counter?
Well, I'm not really the Doctor, I guess you can think of me as the intern, Here is my take on your scenario...

So, Hong kicks and misses, then falls. The center misses the fall, then Hong kicks again and executes a scorable technique(i.e. legal target, legal weapon, sufficient power). Your question; is the scorable techiniqe a valid techinque?

As I understand the rules, the corner referee must determine if the scorable techinque (the roundhouse) landed because of the violation (the fall) or no. If yes, no point if no, valid point. That is the only issue at hand.

And shame on the center ref.
