1st Smoky Mountain Taekwondo Championships.
Dear Taekwondo Community,
I am pleased to announce the 1st Smoky Mountain Taekwondo Championships.
This event will be held on August 18th 2007 at the Knoxville Convention &
Exhibition Center. I will have all of the information available to you by April 1st
via our website; WWW.USTKDACADEMY.COM It is my goal to make this a
competitive and well organized event for all levels of competitors and to provide a
great experience for everyone.
Over the years it has been my pleasure to make so many friends in the Taekwondo
community and I hope that you will support this event. I have received
commitments from many of my International Referee friends as well as highly
qualified National Referees. It is my goal to try and provide you with a level of
officiating that would equal the National Events. I will be providing hotel rooms
and polo shirts for all referees that officiate the entire day as well as a nice dinner
party after the event.
In addition to Olympic Style Sparring we will also have forms competition. For
every school that pre-registers 12 athletes by August 1st 2007 I will be providing 1
hotel room. The Holiday Inn Select downtown Knoxville will be the headquarter
hotel and is connected to the venue.
The Knoxville area has many tourist attractions within a thirty minute drive, such
as; Gatlinburg, Smoky Mountain National Park, Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, The
Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, Knoxville Zoo and several others. I think you
will find many reasons to stay a few extra days. The Knoxville airport is 11 miles
from downtown and transportation will be provided for all Teams and Referees as
necessary.
In closing I hope you will make early plans to attend this event. I will get all the
registration materials out to all of you as the event gets closer.
Sincerely,
Master John Seiber
