A Tabletop Screen for the TA

Has anybody used a VGA splitter so that a small monitor can be placed on the ringside table - that the TA can use to see their own scoreboard ??

This would keep the TA from cranking their neck and looking away from the competitors to see the big screen.

Re: A Tabletop Screen for the TA
Most of the tournaments I have been at, use two screens, one for the audience and referees and one for the TA and scorekeeper. Are you suggesting something else?

Re: A Tabletop Screen for the TA
Yes- Split the video signal going to the public display - so the TA can see the same format as the Center. The computer operator has a screen - I am suggesting that we try placing a second small LCD screen on the head table - so the TA can see the same format as the Center.

If the TA has their own screen - they will not need to look at the public display. I expect that many TA's do this to see which corner judges are confirming a score...

The information on the computer operator's screen does not subtract for deductions - and it seems that many TAs sit a bit too far away to see the smaller size type or the small indicator for which judges pressed buttons.

I have seen VGA cable splitters (Y) at Frys but I have never applied them.

Re: A Tabletop Screen for the TA

What information is on the scoreboard screen that is not available to the TA from the command center screen?

The TA can see the judges button pushes on his screen, as well as a lot of other information. Putting more stuff on the head table would be redundant.

Re: A Tabletop Screen for the TA
The problem may be that when you only TA with ringmaster only a few times each year, it's easier to use the screen you use all day, which is the public screen. Just a guess.
