Our thoughts go out to our brothers and sisters in Mombai.
It never seems to be the ones who create the problems who suffer the consequences. When will we figure out how to solve our differences without blood and fire? Maybe in the next generation.
Wishing all of us Peace as we start a season of Holidays.

In the United States we remember our Veterans today. Remember them, the living and the dead. Thru blood and fire they defended our right to freely think and speak. Exercise that right. Defend it yourself.

I hope our non-USA friends will bear with me while I wax nationalistic for a moment...
Today is a big day. The US is one of the few countries in the world that votes on a working day, and doesn't declare a national holiday. Go figure.
Nonetheless: As referees we already exhibit a dedication to justice and honor, and a willingness to go out on a limb, put ourselves on the line, to enforce those characteristics. In this country we have an opportunity to speak out, loudly and clearly, for what we consider just and honorable. This is not an opportunity everyone in the world has.
Vote. Speak up. Do the right thing. Get out of bed a few minutes early. Make yourself heard. Vote. Vote on the big things and the small. The National and the Local. Vote.
This country is ours. Not the political parties'. 'The Government' is us, unless WE let it be someone else. Vote, vote, vote.
It's 6:30 am, polls open in a half an hour, and I'm leaving now to walk down to my local precinct. I truly hope I'll have to stand in line. I never have before. I hope you have to as well.
Vote
PS OK so I only had to wait 7 minutes. That's still longer than I have ever had to wait before.
The Election is over, the decisions are made. Our former candiates, both great Americans, urge unity. Working together, disagreements and all, we will be a better country. Perhaps this is a lesson we can take to the next USAT election.
